Bobby Moore Fund

The Bobby Moore Fund raises money for research into bowel cancer and also public awareness of the disease.

It was established in 1993 by Stephanie Moore MBE in partnership with Cancer Research UK, in memory of Stephanie's late husband, footballer Bobby Moore OBE, who sadly died from bowel cancer, aged just 51.

I am one of the many people from the world of football who help Stephanie with the amazing fund raising she does. This has so far as raised a staggering £12m for dedicated bowel cancer research!

The funds are spent on high-quality bowel cancer research carried out by leading scientists working across the UK. The money raised to date has funded over 36 Bobby Moore Research Fellowships and three additional research projects.

The fight goes on, and I hope through this blog you will join me in helping Stephanie raise even more money in the future.

2010 is FIFA Football World Cup Year. What better tribute could there be to the captain of the winning 1966 World Cup Team than to continue the work being done in his memory?

I plan to organise a number of blog-related initatives to raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund but you don't have to wait for me! Click on this link to find out how you can make a donation now.
